The 7th regional workshop is planned to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 24th – 26th March 2025, under the theme: ‘Advancing Sustainable E-waste Management in East Africa: The Impact of Extended Producer Responsibility’.
The target audience at this workshop
would likely include: The national ICT Regulators, government officials and
policy makers from national and regional levels; Representatives from the
private sector, including manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers;
The environmental protection agencies and e-waste handlers, collectors and
recyclers; Researchers and academics specializing in e-waste management and
sustainability; Civil society organizations and advocacy groups; International
organizations and development agencies; Other stakeholders involved in the
e-waste management eco-system; Lecturers and Students in ICT
colleges/universities; and Consumers and users.
The Executive Committee is composed of the Chairperson of the Congress, Chairperson each of the Assemblies and the Executive Secretary. The Chairperson of the Congress is the Chairperson of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is responsible for the direction of the affairs of the Organization in between meetings of the Congress.

The EACO WG5 Meeting has been organized to receive updates from Member States on the assigned roles as per the Working Group 5 Term of Reference while the Post WRC-23 Workshop will discuss the key outcomes of WRC-23 and qualitative assessment and implementation action plan by member States and Industry Partners as well as discussion on the EACO WRC-27 Strategy.
EACO Post & Logistics Forum will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 4th-6th May 2022.
Green ICTs Paper writing meeting will take place in Kigali, Rwanda on 14th - 15th February 2022.
WG3 meeting on ICT infrastructure development, connectivity sharing and Digital inclusion will take place in Kigali, Rwanda from 7th - 9th February 2022.

GSMA/EACO: Capacity building course on radio signals and health is scheduled to be held online from 26th and 27th October 2021.
WG6 meeting on Communications numbering Plans, IP Addressing, Service Pricing & Industry Analysis is scheduled in Kigali - Rwanda from 25th to 27th October 2021.
WG2 meeting will be happening in Kigali - Rwanda from 11th to 13th October 2021.

The East African Communications Organization (EACO) is pleased to announce that 24th EACO Congress and its 27th Meeting of Assemblies will be held Virtually from 6th to 9th July 2021, kindly hosted by Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA).
East African Communications Organization (EACO), in collaboration with the ITU and SCYCLE Program of UNITAR, are kicking-off a project which aims to provide technical assistance to the 6 member states of EACO (Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan and Uganda) and support the relevant strategic actions of the Regional E-waste Management Strategy in data and statistics.
